Club President – Steven Wheeler
Vice Peon – Philip Wikoff
The people have spoken. The people being mostly Dave. Tingy was a hot front runner but he’s being groomed for 2009’s contest for lack of experience. The Asian-American contingency then threw their weight behind Dille due to his compact stature and dark mane. Despite a few poor performances of Bruce Springsteen’s “badlands” in New Jersey’s Asbury Park, Wenger’s commanding presense in traditional swing state Ohio sealed the deal for Steven. sigh… any races coming up?
Wheeler eats the competition whole

Wheeler sighted after a recent group ride having just polished off a HealthCoach ‘07 rider and claiming the victim’s clothing as his own. Anyone seen Dille recently?
I mean, really, these conditions are totally unnecessary for racing. How did I train and race in that for 10yr?
I am Super Squadra and I endorse this message. Aside from Wenger who advocates following your training program, most of us agree people should ride hard on group rides. The reason is simple, if someone is riding hard in the wind, that means a wealth of people are enjoying a moderate effort. His/her hard ride is someone else’s pleasure spin in the wheels. Yes we are in Texas and you might get guttered. You are also a beautifully evolved creature. Use your finely honed communication skills and tell that “hard riding” individual that they’re guttering you OR start your own echelon. You might even get dropped which could be virtuous. If you’re riding so hard you get dropped, maybe you shouldn’t be any part of any group ride if what you are after is an easy ride. So, love your group ride, love them more if you’re in the wheel hanging on for dear life. These situations are rare. Can you find yourself riding in debris dodging SW Pkwy trees at home on the trainer? Does your set of rollers have cavernous cracks that you have to navigate while fighting for a wheel at VO2? I bet your Shoal Creek spin has plenty of stop signs and lights to keep your ride nice and easy. Laying on your couch fantasizing about spring races offers the lightest of resistance training. Your DuPont grey cubicle will not drop you. So, go get dropped by Wheeler this weekend, he can be found on the Progress coffee ride 8:30am on Sunday.
Wow, we’re really on line. I have found a new place to spend 15min a day thanks to Teammate Wikoff.
Super Squadra is a creation inspired by the experiences of founding members David Wenger and Phil Wikoff during their 2007 season with HealthCoach. It became clear that there was virtue in having a small close-knit team but that two riders was too few. We made it our goal to build upon HealthCoach’s successes and business liaisons and add those key missing personnel. The first addition came in 2007 in Ian Dille. Those few races in which we had three riders made it clear the exponential value of additional riders. Despite a late start, Ian was instrumental in so many of our defining moments including David’s late August HHH100 win. It was pretty obvious who our top choice would be for a fourth rider, Steven Wheeler. Riding for THSJ the prior four or five years, his loyalty to that organization made it a tough decision to leave. Despite a number of classy and extremely successful athletes who we entertained completing our roster we went a different direction. Alan Ting is a rider we expect amazing things from in the future. That future could be 2008 or it could be beyond next season. With national track titles already on his belt, our goal is to accelerate his development in a professional and supportive atmosphere. Material and financial support is all in place thanks to the tireless efforts of David and Steven. Datarock team issue tracksuits are in the mail.
