Super Squadra is a creation inspired by the experiences of founding members David Wenger and Phil Wikoff during their 2007 season with HealthCoach. It became clear that there was virtue in having a small close-knit team but that two riders was too few. We made it our goal to build upon HealthCoach’s successes and business liaisons and add those key missing personnel. The first addition came in 2007 in Ian Dille. Those few races in which we had three riders made it clear the exponential value of additional riders. Despite a late start, Ian was instrumental in so many of our defining moments including David’s late August HHH100 win. It was pretty obvious who our top choice would be for a fourth rider, Steven Wheeler. Riding for THSJ the prior four or five years, his loyalty to that organization made it a tough decision to leave. Despite a number of classy and extremely successful athletes who we entertained completing our roster we went a different direction. Alan Ting is a rider we expect amazing things from in the future. That future could be 2008 or it could be beyond next season. With national track titles already on his belt, our goal is to accelerate his development in a professional and supportive atmosphere. Material and financial support is all in place thanks to the tireless efforts of David and Steven. Datarock team issue tracksuits are in the mail.
