David Wenger

An accomplished road and track cyclist, David Wenger brings 13-years of racing experience to the Bicycle Sport Shop presented by Girling Healthcare cycling team. David has raced on top-level amateur teams throughout his cycling career, including a stint with current teammate Ian Dille on the Mercy cycling team in 2001. In the fall of 2001, while attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, David won a collegiate national championship in the points race. In 2002 he raced with the U-23 National Team in Belgium and earned a national medal by placing fourth in the U-23 time trial championships. Between 2000 and 2004 David competed on three different professional cycling teams.

After moving permanently to Austin in 2005, David won both the state criterium and road race titles, taking the overall TXBRA competition, the Texas Cup, in the process. In 2008 David again finished first in the overall Texas Cup competition. David is a co-founder of Durata Training, a training service catering to endurance athletes. Durata Training offers training programs, physiological testing, biomechanical analysis, and nutritional consulting. David aims to make his sponsors proud by setting a strong example on and off the racecourse.
