Chad Haga
Chad Haga grew up in North Texas, cruising the neighborhood on his BMX bike, practicing wheelies, and hitting jumps in the street. In middle school Chad discovered mountain biking and raced a few times per year throughout high school. Eventually, he purchased a road bike to improve his endurance and entered a Tuesday Night Crit race in Plano. He was hooked.
During the last three years Chad focused primarily on the collegiate race scene. He won the South Central Conference Championship title twice for mountain biking and once on the road. At the 2009 Collegiate Road Nationals, Chad finished 13th in the road race out of 135 competitors. Outside of collegiate competition, he raced unattached until April of 2009, when he joined Team AT&T-Brain and Spine Cycling shortly before receiving his Category 1 upgrade. With the move to Super Squadra, Chad hopes the experience and knowledge of his teammates will continue to drive his improvement into the 2010 racing season.
Chad is a senior Mechanical Engineering major at Texas A&M University, where he is also the President of the Texas A&M Cycling Team. When not focusing on his studies or cycling, Chad enjoys spending time with friends and playing the piano.
