About Super Squadra

Super Squadra is an elite cycling team founded by Category 1 racers (and longtime friends) David Wenger, Ian Dille, Phil Wikoff, and Steven Wheeler. The current roster also includes Category 1 racer Kevin Girkins, and espoir (under-23) and junior cyclists Alec Aldape, Kevin Fish, Connor Herrington, Grant Koontz, Jordan Oroshiba, and Jake Lanoux.

Super Squadra has claimed multiple Elite, Junior, and Masters National Championship titles, as well as multiple Texas Cup and Texas State championship titles.

However, Super Squadra isn’t solely focused on its own competitive ambitions. The team strives to assist in the development of aspiring bike racers, of all ages, genders, and abilities. In addition to the support of our own young, talented team members—the Super JETS (Junior Espoir Team Squadra)—the team conducts regular cycling skills clinics and seminars open to the public.

Super Squadra has conducted dozens of cycling clinics since 2009. Team members take immense satisfaction in watching our developing team members score breakthrough results, and seeing the attendees of our clinics safely rise through the category ranks.

Mission Statement

The mission of Super Squadra is to provide a high level of support to Category 1 cyclists, as well as aspiring junior and espoir racers with national caliber talent.
We seek to cultivate and deliver on long-term relationships with our sponsors—not only through race results, but also as ambassadors to both the high-end cycling market and general cycling community.
We feel a small core of dedicated and gifted cyclists is the best way to achieve our team’s ethos: Riding. Racing. Teaching.
The Texas Bicycle Racing Association (TXBRA) Individual and Team Overall Championship remains Super Squadra’s primary goal. We aim to provide maximum sponsor representation at the Road, Criterium, and Time Trial State Championships, as well as competitive regional races, and select National Racing Calendar events, including the Elite Road and Criterium National Championships.
