Jake Lanoux

Jake didn’t get into bike racing through conventional methods. He recalls sitting in his room and getting an insane urge to take up cycling. He convinced his parents to meet him halfway on an 1980s Trek Elance touring bike with downtube shifters as an 18th birthday gift. He rode the bike until the wheels, literally, started falling off. Fortunately, the manager of a local bike shop, Paul Littlefield, agreed to lend Jake a new road bike as long as he paid it off working as a bike mechanic.

Jake recently started attending Midwestern State University where he is working towards a Journalism degree, and races on the varsity collegiate cycling team. Outside of cycling Jake has recently started rock climbing, finding enjoyment and pain in yet another sport. Aside from sports, Jake enjoys building custom PC’s and dabbling in trombone.
